We will be taking a short break from our reading group meetings for the autumn 2026 term.
As is fitting for a group that has been running for fifteen years now (yes, we’ve been here since 2011!), it seems a good moment to pause, regroup, and gather energy. The UK university sector is in significant turmoil right now. This means we need critical pedagogy more than ever, but we also need some time to reflect on the strategies and practices that will help us continue to build the university we want — the one where students, teachers, and scholars can thrive together.
During this pause, we encourage you to take a look at the Independent Social Research Foundation’s Dispatches series, to reflect on your own experiences and perhaps share them with colleagues and students across the country.
